Open Letter to Government Authorities, West Bengal

Subject: Immediate Action Required Against Fraudulent "Miracle Healing" Practices

Dear Sir/Madam,

I write to you as a concerned citizen regarding a grave matter that undermines the principles of science, medicine, and public welfare in our state. 

I would like to bring to your kind attention the activities of a Christian religious organization,  "The Potter's House", located at "BD25, Second floor, Bidhan Nagar, BD Block, Sector 1, Bidhannagar, Kolkata, West Bengal 700064", which has been promoting and conducting events under the banner of "Miracle Healing Meetings." 

Enclosed with this letter is their pamphlet (Exhibit 1), which explicitly claims miraculous healings for ailments such as cancer, diabetes, back pain, and various other illnesses.

These claims are not only scientifically baseless but also constitute a direct affront to the hard-won advances of the scientific and medical communities. Such activities foster misinformation, exploit the vulnerability of the sick, and prey on the hope and desperation of marginalized communities such as Dalits, tribals, and minorities. This is both unethical and dangerous, potentially deterring individuals from seeking legitimate medical treatment.

What is even more alarming is their use of religious texts and quotations to substantiate their "miracle" claims, further manipulating the beliefs of innocent people. Such practices amount to blatant brainwashing and are deeply exploitative.

Mark 16:17-18 NKJV: "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

I urge the competent authorities to:

• Investigate the activities of  "The Potter's House" thoroughly to assess their claims and identify any fraudulent practices.
• Hold them accountable for any actions that contravene laws related to public health, misinformation, and the exploitation of vulnerable populations.
• Take stringent action against such organizations to ensure that no one falls victim to their deceitful schemes in the future.
• Launch awareness campaigns to educate the public about the dangers of unscientific practices and the importance of relying on credible medical advice.

The spread of such unscientific practices not only endangers individual lives but also erodes trust in rational thought and evidence-based solutions. It is imperative that the government steps in to protect citizens from such exploitation and upholds the values of science and reason in our society.
